The LinkBermuda team has significant depth and a proven track record of success in global communications. Its management group has held executive positions in companies such as IBM, MCI, Global Crossing, Cable & Wireless, Williams Communications, BTC, TBI and GlobeNet. Its sales, administrative, customer care operational and administrative workforce are seasoned veterans of the communications industry, committed to service excellence.


Key Management

 

Ann Petley-Jones, CEO

Ann Petley-Jones is CEO of LinkBermuda Holdings Ltd. and its subsidiary companies. Ann Petley-Jones is from Halifax, Canada. She has extensive operational, executive and board experience in both corporate strategy and technology-and how to align the two. She was employed by IBM in Canada and the U.S. for more than twenty years, after which she became the first Chief Information Officer (CIO) of Nova Scotia Power Inc., now Emera. Since leaving Emera, Ms Petley-Jones has owned and been CEO of two companies, PetaData Holdings Ltd., of Hamilton, Bermuda and APJ Management Limited of Halifax, Nova Scotia. In PetaData, she created a high-performance team, focused on information services and telecom. She serves as Trustee or Board member on several charitable boards and foundations: The Sobey Art Foundation; Dalhousie University Faculty of Management Advisory Board; Nature Conservancy of Canada (NCC); Art Gallery of Nova Scotia; trustee of US foundation for the National Ballet School of Canada.

Miller Williams, COO & CFO

Miller Williams became Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer of LinkBermuda (formerly Cable & Wireless Bermuda) in April 2011. He also serves as a Board Member and Audit Committee Chairman of Willsbros Group (NYSE:WG), an international engineering and construction company, serving the energy industries. Prior to joining LinkBermuda, he was Managing Director of Wilvest, LLC, an investment and corporate development advisory firm. Previously, he was Executive Vice President of Strategic Development of VarTec Telecom, Inc., an international consumer telecommunications services company, from 2002 until 2004 and was appointed Chief Financial Officer of VarTec in November 2003. From 2000 to August 2003, Mr. Williams was Executive Chairman of the Board of PowerTel, Inc., a public company providing telecommunications services in Australia. He also served as Chairman of CLEC and wireless companies in Chile and Brazil. From 1991 to 2002, he served in various executive positions with Williams Communications Group, a subsidiary of The Williams Companies, providing global network and broadband media services, where his last position was Senior Vice President, Corporate Development, General Manager International and Chairman of WCG Ventures, the company’s venture capital fund.

Lin Gentemann, General Counsel

Lin Gentemann, is General Counsel of LinkBermuda. Ms. Gentemann brings over 20 years of telecommunications industry experience to the team, having worked extensively with international companies primarily in the US, Bermuda, Canada and South America, including as general counsel responsible for all legal and regulatory matters,. During her tenure with 360networks Inc. she led the Company’s legal restructuring efforts and successful emergence from bankruptcy protection in 2002. She has also held positions at GlobeNet Communications, TeleBermuda International, MCI and Jones, Day, Reavis & Pogue.

Scott Socol, VP Carrier Relations & H.R.

Mr. Socol is a well-known senior executive in the international telecommunications industry, having served as Senior International Regulatory Counsel of MCl in Washington, D.C., until assuming the position of Senior Director of International Relations in MCl lnternational in 1987.  He managed International service expansion throughout North, Central and South America, the Caribbean, and Africa, overseeing MCI offices in approximately 20 countries and maintaining all aspects of carrier and government relations in countries throughout the region.  Prior to its acquisition by MCI, Mr. Socol helped launch Satellite Business System’s international service expansion cross border into Canada and Mexico, in addition to managing regulatory and government affairs. More recently, Mr. Socol helped establish TeleBermuda International from 1995-2000, serving as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for Globenet Communications Group Limited, responsible for the overall business activities of Globenet and TBI.   Mr. Socol began his professional career as an attorney in the FCC International Facilities Branch.

Craig Davis, General Manager

Mr. Davis has more than 20 years of experience in Telecommunications having joined Cable & Wireless Bermuda in 1991. Since that time Mr. Davis has held a number of Operational and Business Development roles within the Cable & Wireless Bermuda group, rising to the position of Country Manager in 2010. Mr. Davis is a past director of the Cable & Wireless Bermuda group as well as Quantum Communications. Subsequent to the purchase of Cable & Wireless Bermuda by EastLink International Holdings in March 2011, Mr. Davis was named General Manager of LinkBermuda.

Winston Morton, VP Technology

Winston has been drawing clouds for more than 15 years with a career working with global companies such as IBM, Marconi Communications, and Nova Scotia Power. Winston is responsible for technology direction of LinkBermuda. As a founding member of a number of startups in Internet security, competitive local exchange carriers and next generation data centers, he is tasked with expansion of LinkBermuda's product and services portfolio and assuring customer value. Winston is routinely called upon to speak at industry events in cloud computing, Internet security and next generation broadband networks.
